Ripples in Time (Maji Book 2)

by L.A. Casey

Blurb

Escaping Earth for twenty-one-year-old Levi meant fleeing a monster who caged her and abandoning a mother who loved her. Elation and misery were her constant companions. Bred a slave, Levi had only ever known hardship ... but on Ealra, home to the Maji species that saved her from a fate worse than death, she was free.
Existing from day to day for the past few decades had become the norm for Ezah. He didn’t know happiness, and he didn’t want to either. Ever since he’d failed to protect his intended mate from a vicious beast, he found himself drifting further into despair.
In the midst of their inner darkness, their lives intertwine and put them onto a path of light. Levi soon imagines a future filled with possibilities while Ezah prays history doesn’t repeat itself.
When a monster from his little human’s life emerges from her past, he vows not to make the same mistake twice.

My Review

I absolutely loved it! The alpha males that adore, cherish and protect their females are back! And Ezah is no different than the rest. My only complaint is I read it like an eager male with the promise of going slower the next time.

Ezah acted horribly in the first book and stole Kol’s fated mate, Nova, from him in hopes of saving Kol from an inevitable mate loss. Ezah did not believe human females would be the Maji’s salvation. He was wrong and realized the huge mistake he made, but it was too late. The pain he caused Kol was too much. So now, as part of Ezah’s punishment, Kol decided that he has to immerse himself with the human females to get to know them better.

Levi only knows enslavement and to be fearful of men. Coming to Ealra is her chance at freedom. When Ezah comes across Levi, he is intrigued and feels an attraction to her. Something he hasn’t felt in decades after he lost his intended. What starts off as a plan to get to know and befriend Levi, slowly turns into a possessive claiming for his female. Yes, that’s why I’m here!

L.A. Casey did a wonderful job at developing Ezah and Levi’s relationship. Both Ezah and Levi were able to heal from their past. It was beautiful to read. I can’t forget to mention all the other characters in the book. I love how the author writes this family. They love, protect and support each other, but also feel the need to punch each other in the face when they are acting a certain way.

Plenty of action, steam and heart.

Next up, Nero! Swoon. Nero approaches every single female, with no shame or intention of settling down, so this will be fun to watch him fall for his mate. I’m hoping he falls hard.
