Fury (Institute of Unpredictable Magic Book 2) by Sadie Moss

Blurb:

I thought my first assignment as an IUM agent was rough... but it’s not over yet.
Something strange is happening to the magical population of Portland. People are dying, and unless we can figure out what the hell is going on, more people will end up dead.
The good news is, Logan, Nick, Saint, and I made a great team on our last mission, so I know we’re up to the challenge.
But as the four of us are thrust back together to combat a mysterious magical threat, the feelings I’ve been developing for each of them become harder and harder to deny.
Is Logan right? Can we really make this work?
And will any of us live long enough for it to even matter?

My Review

What I love most about this series, so far, is the characters. More specifically, the leading men. They are distinguishable, memorable and well thought out. They are also funny and sexy, which doesn't hurt. I felt the connections and relationships deepening in this book. I love that the men were showing her full commitment with no hesitancy. They are totally fine with Raelyn not choosing between them. I think reverse harems should just adopt the label: sharing is caring. And I can't forget to mention the author can write a steamy scene, A+.

My only constructive criticism is that the book was lacking the mysterious and exciting thrill I got from the first book. I'm going to pin point it on two reasons. The first, overexplaining. There would be dialogue and then it would follow up with repetitive narration. Not a whole lot of heart pumping action when it's quickly explained away.
The second point, predictability. It was predictable this time. Even the cliffhanger was predictable. Raelyn kept asking over and over "What is going on?" and all I kept thinking was how is she not figuring this out? Where did the smart girl from the first book go?

So for the next book, I'd like to see less explaining and more heart pumping action. Keep the readers on their toes with mystery.
